The USA Today is reporting that despite the government shutdown veterans from around the country still are visiting the war memorials in Washington. According to the Honor Flight Network website there are Honor Flight Tours scheduled for nearly everyday in October. Vets say they won’t let the shutdown stand in their way. National Park Service spokeswoman Carol Johnson said “this is so meaningful to the vets, the main thing is we’d like to get back to work and welcome visitors again.”
